Here’s where some CC companies get you. All of them offer great rewards POTENTIAL. Sorry for the caps but it’s important. The truth is you have to find out what the qualifying purchases are. The best ones are the cards you get points for paying your utility bill and gas. Most people have to buy gas and have utility payments why not use your card and get the points. Just save the money you normally do for those payments and send it to the CC.

Prepaid Credit Card Applications

Tom Tessin asked:

If you’re looking for a prepaid credit card, I’m going to show you what you should look out for when you’re ready to apply for one. There may be some terms and fees that you not know about. When it comes to applying, try and follow these points.

Always look for fees: The first thing that you need to look out for is if there are any fees. Prepaid cards are notorious for having weekly, monthly and annual fees. These fees are always on the disclosure list. It’s your duty to make sure that you know about them.

Does it have a major logo? Make sure that when you do apply that it has a major logo. This logo should be from either Visa or MasterCard. If it doesn’t have this logo, you may find out that you will not be able to use it at the stores you usually buy from.

Does it report? If you’re getting a prepaid credit card, you might as well get a card that reports to the major credit bureaus. If it doesn’t report to the major bureaus, you may find that your credit score won’t change at all in the future. If you’re worried about your credit score, make sure you get a card that reports.

These are the three things that you should look out for when you’re ready to apply for a card. Make sure that you follow all of these tips and not just apply for the first card you see. If you just apply, you may find that you’re applying for a card that you don’t need.

I don’t have a valid credit card to verify my identity when applying for a store card. what should i do?

Lauren A asked:

I want to apply for a Bloomingdales Credit Card (just the store card, not the Bloomingdales Visa or anything like that). But on the credit application it says you need to enter a valid credit card to verify your identity (it says not a debit card). Well all I have is a debit card, I don’t have a credit card (other then a Nordstroms Store Card). Do you think if I call Bloomingdales they can waive this, or is pretty standard and I have to have a valid credit card?
